HONOLULU Magazine has been serving the people of the Islands for over well-over a century. In 1888, King David Kalākaua commissioned the magazine under royal charter. HONOLULU is among the handful of publications in the United States that have chronicled the events of an entire century. It is the oldest magazine west of the Mississippi and the only city magazine in the state of Hawai‘i.
