INTERNSHIPS

HONOLULU Editorial Intern 

This position gives students in-depth experience of reporting and writing for professional media, including contributing to our print magazine and digital platforms (website and social media). Duties include pitching, reporting and writing stories for HONOLULU, HONOLULU Family and Frolic Hawai‘i, as well as helping with research and fact-checking. Our intern also will help cover events for social media and take part in other editorial projects.

 

Familiarity with WordPress, Microsoft Office software, Instagram, Facebook and SEO is preferred. Experience with video shooting, editing and storytelling is a plus.

HONOLULU Multimedia Intern 

This position focuses on content creation for the HONOLULU Division brands (HONOLULU, HONOLULU Family and Frolic Hawai‘i). Duties include brainstorming story ideas for social media and other digital platforms; and conceptualizing, shooting and editing Reels, videos, photos and other multimedia content. Applicants should be familiar with Instagram, especially Reels, and tools such as Canva.

Frolic Hawai‘i Digital Editorial Intern

This position gives students in-depth experience of reporting and writing about O‘ahu’s food scene for Frolic Hawai‘i’s website and social media. Duties include pitching, reporting and writing stories for Frolic Hawai‘i, as well as creating social media posts to promote the intern’s articles. If interested, our intern may also help cover events for social media and take part in other editorial projects.

 

Familiarity with WordPress, Microsoft Office software, Google Docs, Instagram and SEO is preferred. Experience with Instagram, particularly IG Reels, is a plus. While familiarity with Honolulu’s food scene is not a requirement, curiosity and a passion for discovery are.
