6 Hawai‘i Event Companies That Bring the Party to You

Just the fact that we’re gathering again is enough reason to celebrate. But, if you want to pump up the party atmosphere, some local companies will bring the fun (and gifts) to your yard.

Signs of the Season

When Tori Santos posted a few of her wood signs on Facebook early in the pandemic, she got more than a few likes. Now, we love the customized creations she offers in her shop, Indi & Dash Co., which is named after her two young kids. Santos cuts out everything, from scenes of the Mokulua Islands and Ko‘olau Mountains to playful whale- and dinosaur-adorned plaques for kids’ rooms. Party people preselect cutout pieces for their designs, like replacing the “o” in “Home” with a Spam musubi or monstera leaf, then paint their signs on-site. Or, for a gift idea that will travel, Santos will pack up DIY kits for everyone from keiki to kūpuna to create with friends at home.

Signs range from $40–$50 each. 45-480 Kāne‘ohe Bay Drive, Suite C-01M, Kāne‘ohe, indianddashco.com, @indianddashco

Lift Your Spirits

During lockdown, our at-home bars became AH-mazing. But the expert imagination to create a scintillating sip from our cocktail leftovers? That we’re still missing. There are several mobile bartending businesses on O‘ahu ranging from one of the OG groups, Free Spirits (started almost a decade ago by two former Modern Honolulu co-workers), to Instagram-worthy newbies. Soda Pop boasts a 1966 Airstream Caravel bar while Aloha Caravan’s fleet includes an all-white mobile bar, a Piaggio Ape truck with four taps, and a two-tap bicycle bar. Do know that some companies will help supply the liquor while others will require you to do the shopping.

Lynette Yi’s Pua Blooms brings a selection of greens and flowers to any bash so guests can put together their own splashy bouquets to deck their halls at home. Yi also dresses up the 1968 Volkswagen pickup truck with lights and rustic décor as a glowing backdrop for your holiday-in-paradise cards.
