Moana Sets Sail Again on Nov. 27

Along with the returning stars, Moana 2 has locals Dana Ledoux Miller and Bryson Chun behind the scenes.

Kick off the long Thanksgiving weekend at a theater with Moana 2, featuring role reprisals from Hawai‘i favorites Auli‘i Cravalho as Moana; Dwayne Johnson as Maui; and Nicole Scherzinger as Sina, Moana’s mom. The film takes place three years after the original, with Moana venturing out across the ocean to find an ancient island and bring her people together.

Ho‘omaika‘i to Dana Ledoux Miller, one of the directors and co-writer of the movie, and Bryson Chun, a Kamehameha Schools grad who wrote for it as well. Ledoux Miller graduated from UH Mānoa’s Academy for Creative Media and worked on Netflix’s Thai Cave Rescue, among many other projects; this is her first time directing a full-length feature. She also co-founded the Pasifika Entertainment Advancement Komiti and this summer launched a writers fellowship, of which Chun served as a mentor. Moana 2 opens Nov. 27.
